So after a few days Honduras is back to the way it should be...ice cream man ringing his bell in the street, tortilla man screaming by on his motor cycle, cows (yup you heard right) getting into your trash bags in the street, kids are still kids, and I still love it here.
So let me fill you in a few of the fun things lately. This past month has held many many birthday celebrations all of which were very fun and well celebrated. I've spent some great times with my friends from church on our normal Saturday get-togethers and random trips out together. Pictures to go wit that below.
I've also had stressful, pull my hair out, give 3 suspensions in a day kind of days with my kids, but I also have had many days where I look at them and realize I'm not ready for them to leave me. They are a talkative bunch...that's really our problem. They are funny. I love them, and some days it's mutual. This past Friday it was Green Day where we as International School take the entire morning to celebrate our planet. We climbed the mountain across the street, had a dog show, a plant contest, reptile exhibit, other demonstrations, and just plain lots of fun. I didn't have to tell my kids to shush, or to speak in English..heck I joined them in Spanish at times. It was just pure fun and on Friday we were respectful friends. I love them. We have 15 days left of school still....a TON to get done and preparation on both ends for them to go on to 5th grade. I am going to miss them terribly as they are a great bunch and next year's group...well let's just say there's too many of a particular type to really split them up well...if you know what I'm saying. So, I'm going to enjoy the loves I have while I have them because as we are learning in our novel Because of Winn-Dixie "You can only love what you have while you have it." So true.
So this next month holds a lot for me...finishing out my first full of year of teaching for one, lots of end of the year parties, saying good-bye to many beloved friends who will not be returning, packing, preparing for next year, and just enjoying life of still being here. This month will fly and I'm looking forward to it. Hope life finds you well on your end.
peace and love,
Kristi

Ladies Day

Trip to Parque Aurora where we played every sport under the sun (soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball, american football, and swam!)

OH...and my kiddos would all like to say a quick hello and share their crazy moments of fun and learning at school with you.
No I don't look like this everyday! I won first place for crazy hair day!

No matter what I do to my hair I am still adorable!

Learning what it feels like to have blubber like an arctic ocean animal!

Miss Kerekes spends a lot of her recesses tutoring us and making up missed work!

Look at the things Miss Kerekes teaches me at recess time!

s
"I'm trying to hypnotize you Miss!".... Oh Marcelo, I love you kiddo.

Our class...4-C!

All ready for Green Day!!!!

Look! I won in the Dog Show!

Sofi participated too!

Miss KEREKES is nuts! (Oh, and I should tell you she was murmuring the whole time "No quiero la cabeza, no quiero la cabeza" to the woman from the zoo. (Translation: I don't want the snake's head, I don't want the snake's head.) She didn't listen to her by the way.)

We think we've found Miguel's future career. He wouldn't leave this poor animal alone all day!
